MetaMask, an extension for the Ethereum browser that allows users to view the Ethereum blockchain directly from their browser. The extension allows users to execute Ethereum transactions directly within the browser.
How does it all work?
The MetaMask extension incorporates Ethereum’s web3 API to any website’s Javascript context, meaning when you open a web page, the extension will be able to read the information stored in the blockchain. This information includes the Ethereum addresses of every wallet and the associated balances, the Ethereum address and balance of the contract address, the number of transactions that were performed, and more.
Signing up creates a wallet in MetaMask clients. Users can move tokens from one address to another, transfer funds, and withdraw money between wallets.
